Fatigue and Fracture Laboratory

• Fatigue and fracture laboratory is unique in IIT Roorkee. It comprises 500 kN fatigue testing equipment that is commonly used for the testing of structures or structural components under the action of fluctuating loads. Fracture mechanics-based test facilities are available for crack growth monitoring and damage evaluation on different materials. Additionally, the set-up is equipped with an environmental chamber for thermo-mechanical fatigue testing components across a broad range of temperatures -120 Deg-C to 500 Deg-C.
