Geotechnical Engineering

Geotechnical Engineering Group comprises of 10 Faculty members as 5 Professors and 5 Assistant Professors. Faculty covers a divert research areas in the Geotechnical Engineering including Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, Ground Improvement, Soil Dynamics and Rock Mechanics. Contribution of faculty is easily visible from their research publications in reputed Journals. Faculty has equally contributed in various Consultancy projects. Some of the projects are of National Importance. Geotechnical faculty is also active in Various Professional Bodies like Indian Geotechnical Society (current President), Indian National Group of ISRM (current President) and Indian Society of Earthquake Technology (Secretary). Faculty is currently supervising more than 50 Research Scholars.
Over the years, Geotechnical Laboratory has taken steps in the advanced technology. Equipment like Large Direct Shear and Poly-axial Testing facility are unique in the Country. Apart from that laboratory has been equipped with enough facilities for UG and PG in the areas of Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering, Ground Improvement and Rock Mechanics. Laboratory is equipped with enough facility to handle Soil Exploration Program in Consultancy Projects.
