She will work on a fully funded project "Mapping the Heat Sensitivity of Indian Cities: Identifying Drivers and Indicators" using Google Earth Engine for six months under the mentorship of the Council on Energy, Environment, and Water. This program is based on the Google Summer of Earth Engine.

Congratulations to Prof. Nikhil Saboo on being awarded the Certificate of Merit Award for Bio-Bitumen developed at IIT Roorkee by his research team. It has now been used in a National Highway (NH) section having a design traffic of more than 200 million standard axles (msa). This NH trial section (approx. 650 m in length) is the first in the world that have been constructed using this technology. L3Harris Geospatial has more than 40 years of experience developing scientifically proven and in-depth solutions of advanced geospatial analytics, machine learning, and remotely sensed data to make better decisions. Prateek, who works on Hyperspectral remote sensing of Earth, Moon, and Mars as his Ph.D. project, earned this feature because of extensive experience with L3Harris ENVI software while working in the Geomatics Engineering group. His work on Remote sensing data is promoted by L3Harris Geospatial and earned him a free ENVI+IDL 1-year student license, which will be crucial for achieving his Ph.D. goals. Prof. Chandra Shekhar Prasad Ojha has offered the prestigious Fellowship of INAE in year 2020 for his significant contribution to Engineering. Professor Ojha has contributed immensely in the area of civil engineering especially water resources management and climate change through his widely read 244 research publications of which 75 of them are in ASCE journals, 9 authored books, 53 book chapters. He was Curtis Visiting Professorship at Purdue University, USA in 2012, Fellow ASCE in 2017; Institute Chair Professorship at IIT Roorkee in 2018; Adjunct Prof. at University of Missouri, Columbia in 2018. He was the recipient of ASCE research paper awards in 2001, 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2018; ASCE State of Art Award in Civil Engineering in 2014, Visiting Fellowship of ASCE in 2010 and Fellow ASCE since 2017. He has also been recipient of the Alexander Von Humboldt Fellowship from AvH Foundation, Germany; JSPS Fellowship from Japan, STINT Fellowship from Sweden, Distinguished Visiting Fellowship of Royal Academy of Engineering U.K., Commonwealth Research Scholarship from the Association of Commonwealth Universities,U.K. He has also served as Head of Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee from April 2015-March 2019.
The Department of Civil Engineering congratulates Prof. C.S.P.Ojha on his tremendous achievement and also bring laurels to the Institute and Department. He has also guided 51 Ph.D students.

The study is conducted under the aegis of inter IIT Project CGanga. Since the industrial contribution is insignificant in the above stretch, but sampling provides data on the effect of tourism and religious activities on water quality.
